Emile Gallé Fruit Plate

Delightful fruit plate marked Emile Gallé, from the famous Parisian shop whose proprietor was a lover of the arts and beauty with interests in cabinetry, ceramics and glass.

The plates feature a decoration depicting a bucolic landscape, well suited to Gallé's spirit who used to say "Our roots are deep in the woods, among the mosses, around the springs."

21cm in diameter, in good condition with some fine crackle noted.
